Christmas Card Making

This December, Minster Care Group launched its Carol-Themed Christmas initiative, a festive programme inspired by traditional Christmas carols and designed to bring joy, creativity, connection, and wellbeing to residents across our homes.

Each week throughout December is themed around a much-loved carol, encouraging meaningful activities that celebrate music, memory, togetherness, and community spirit.

Hillcrest House

At Hillcrest House, creativity and community were at the heart of Week 1 as residents enjoyed personal craft sessions, including theming walking frames and making headbands. Sensory sessions encourage residents to reminisce about festive traditions, baking, and crafts.

Abbeywell Court

Week 1 at Abbeywell Court began with baking mince and apple pies, sharing memories of traditional family recipes, making Christmas cards for loved ones and visiting local Christmas markets.

Ideal Care Home

Residents at Ideal Home created a beautiful festive nativity display, thoughtfully handmade and artistically drawn by the home’s talented Deputy Manager.

Holcroft Grange

Week 1 at Holcroft Grange was filled with thoughtful preparations and joyful celebrations. Residents came together to make candles, share personal messages, and honour loved ones during a meaningful remembrance activity.  Alongside these quieter moments, residents also enjoyed a lively Mother Goose pantomime. The celebrations continued with a cosy Christmas movie afternoon, where residents watched the festive favourite Elf.

Crossways

Residents at Crossways enjoyed a creative lantern-making session, filling the home with warm festive light.

Garswood House

Festivities at Garswood House included residents helping to decorate the home with festive arts and crafts, including personalised stockings and gingerbread houses for the Christmas Tree.

Amberley House

Residents at Amberley House jingled their way into the festive season by creating Christmas wish lists, sharing laughter and excitement as they looked forward to the celebrations ahead.

Sovereign House

Sovereign House hosted a lively Christmas fete, filled with music, dancing, and joyful moments.

Cheaney Court

Cheaney Court welcomed a very special new resident, Johnny Walnut, a hand-crafted six-foot nutcracker created through teamwork and creativity. Now standing proudly at the entrance, Johnny has quickly become a beloved part of the home’s Christmas celebrations.

Residents also enjoyed learning about Christmas traditions around the world, exploring festivities in countries including Turkey, Ireland, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Germany, and Mexico.

Eagle View

Festive creativity flourished at Eagle View, with residents making snowflakes and festive decorations, enjoying lively music featuring Christmas classics, dancing, and singing. Finishing the day with wreath making and a reflective Gratitude Baubles activity, celebrating moments of thankfulness and joy.
