How do I know if I, or my loved one, needs care?
If you, or your loved one seems lonely, depressed, are falling more frequently, are struggling with basic tasks such as eating, cleaning and dressing, are neglecting personal and home cleanliness and are struggling to remember things, these might be signs that you or a loved one is in need of care.
Our homes will do a full assessment to determine what type of care is best suited for you or your loved one.
What type of care do Minster homes offer?
Our homes offer a variety of care, with some specialising in specific types of care. We offer residential, dementia, nursing, respite, intermediate and palliative care. Our homes can cater to varying needs. Additional detail explaining the different types of care can be found at our care.
Can my loved one continue to see their own GP?
We allow this across our homes, providing the doctor is within the catchment area of the home. Alternatively, our homes are within the catchment areas of excellent surgeries and the home will be able to recommend suitable GPs in the area.
Can we customise the bedrooms?
We want you, or your loved one, to feel at home in our home. Residents are able to bring in personal possessions such as soft furnishings, photos and other personal items. The items also need to pass a fire safety risk assessment, which will be conducted by the home staff.
What activities do you offer?
We believe activities an extremely important aspect to quality care and therefore, each home has at least one activities coordinator. Our activities coordinators are all trained to provide meaningful activity to stimulate our residents both mentally and physically, in line with our goal of helping our residents age well. The coordinators will tailor activities to ensure all residents are able get involved should they chose to.
What are mealtimes like at your homes?
Mealtimes are very important at all our care homes and our staff take extra heed that any dietary preferences are duly noted. Apart from the regular three meals per day, our homes offer snacks and refreshments throughout the day. Food is served in our well-presented restaurant style dining rooms. If residents wish to or require, they can have their meals in their rooms.
What facilities do your homes offer?
Each home is different but all feature comfortable bedrooms, many with ensuite facilities, shared living spaces and enclosed garden areas. The detailed facilities can be found at each home’s dedicated page and in our downloadable brochures – our care homes
