At Minster Care Group, we believe that delivering exceptional care home experiences extends far beyond the physical walls of our care homes across the UK. Every day, we strive to create supportive environments where residents living with dementia can thrive while helping families navigate the challenges that dementia can bring. This Dementia Action Week, we wanted to find a unique way to unite our digital community for a greater cause, and the response we received was truly overwhelming.
As a leading provider of residential care, dementia care, nursing care and respite care across the UK, Dementia Action Week presented an important opportunity for us to raise awareness, encourage conversations, and support a cause that is close to the hearts of many within our communities.
This year, we launched a special social media fundraising campaign designed to turn online engagement into meaningful action. Thanks to the incredible support of our residents, families, colleagues, friends and followers, we are proud to announce that together we raised £384 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Every single interaction on our updates did so much more than just raise numbers on a screen. Each click helped spark important conversations around cognitive health, amplify the importance of person-centred care, and contribute directly to the vital support networks that families rely on during their dementia journey.

Why Dementia Awareness Matters
Dementia affects hundreds of thousands of people across the UK and impacts not only those living with the condition but also their families, friends and carers.
Raising awareness helps:
- Reduce stigma surrounding dementia
- Encourage earlier diagnosis and support
- Improve understanding within local communities
- Promote dementia-friendly environments
- Support families navigating the dementia journey
At Minster Care Group, we understand that dementia care requires compassion, patience, expertise and a truly person-centred approach. Through meaningful activities, specialist support and tailored care plans, our teams work every day to enhance the quality of life for residents living with dementia.
As we reflect on Dementia Action Week, we are reminded that creating dementia-friendly communities is a shared responsibility and one that becomes stronger when we work together.
