Father’s Day at Minster Care Group is always a significant occasion within our care homes, offering a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our communities. Across Minster Care Group, our homes marked the day with a variety of relaxed activities, family visits, and special meals designed to bring people together and support resident wellbeing. Here is how some of our homes spent their Father’s Day celebrations.

Abbeywell Court, Newcastle-under-Lyme
At Abbeywell Court, the afternoon was centred around family connection, with relatives joining residents and staff for a party in the lounge. The celebration included music, dancing, and conversations, giving families a comfortable space to spend quality time together and share memories.
Crossways, Northwich
At Crossways, residents enjoyed a traditional Sunday dinner prepared by the kitchen team, served in a beautifully decorated dining room. Each of the gentlemen received a small gift, which was followed by an afternoon of bingo and an interactive left-right story game with prizes.
Garswood House, Wigan
Music was the main focus at Garswood House, where residents spent their afternoon singing and dancing along to some of their favorite classic songs, creating a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere in the communal lounge.
Red Hill Care Centre, Worcester & Wealstone, Chester
For some homes, the celebrations focused on simple, classic pairings. Red Hill Care Centre hosted an afternoon of beers and doughnuts for the residents; Wealstone followed a similar theme, bringing dads together to enjoy fresh doughnuts and refreshments.
Holcroft Grange, Warrington
At Holcroft Grange, the warm summer weather allowed for outdoor celebrations. Resident Derek spent his Father’s Day enjoying a quiet lunch and drinks with his family outside in the sunshine by the Holcroft Sundial Bar.
These varied activities reflect our ongoing commitment to person-centred care, ensuring that key milestones are celebrated in ways that bring comfort, familiarity, and simple enjoyment to our residents.
