Joy Parker is a gentle-hearted and much-loved resident at Abbeywell Court. Known for her warm smile and thoughtful nature, Joy brings a quiet charm that is felt throughout the home.
Joy loves reading, word searches, and crosswords, and enjoys keeping her mind active, something our team truly admires and encourages.
Music plays a big part in Joy’s happiness, especially when singers visit the home. You’ll often see her tapping her feet along, enjoying the moment.
Joy’s journey reflects the reassurance, dignity, and sense of belonging we strive to create every day through person-centred elderly care.
“When I first arrived at Abbeywell nearly a year ago I was quite shy and worried but the staff made me feel at home , reassuring me that I was in good hands . The activities staff have been wonderful if I’m not sure about what I should be doing they redirect me to one of my many interest such as reading, word searches and crossword and if I’m missing my lovely family they sit and talk to me about all of my family photos , I enjoy when we have singers in as I love all different types of music you will always see my feet tapping along to the music”

Behind every exceptional care home is a dedicated team. Lonelia has been a valued member of the Abbeywell Court family for over four years, bringing compassion, creativity, and positivity into her role every day.
Her presence provides comfort and joy to residents, helping create a welcoming and supportive environment.
Outside of work, Lonelia has a strong connection to nature and creativity. She cares for over 1,000 plants and enjoys crafting items from recycled materials, including lamps, boxes, and furniture.
We are incredibly proud to have Lonelia as part of the Abbeywell Court team.

Morning Exercise Sessions
Residents now enjoy morning exercise sessions designed to help them start the day feeling refreshed and ready. From light aerobics to gentle chair yoga, these sessions support mobility, joint health, muscle strength, and confidence.
Music That Gets Everyone Moving
The home regularly welcomes local singers, creating uplifting moments for residents and their families. Singing along, dancing, and shared laughter fill the home with energy, connection, and happiness.
