Crossways is a purpose-built home approximately one mile from Northwich town centre. It is a friendly and welcoming home, with a number of lounges and communal areas. Residents and their families are regularly involved in decisions affecting home life.
Crossways has 39 spacious single bedrooms including two with en-suite. All rooms have television points.
There are a number of pleasant lounge areas throughout the home. These include a coffee lounge where residents can sit and relax with their relatives. One of the lounges is fitted with a hearing loop, a discreet device to improve sound reception and aid those with hearing difficulties. There are also a number of dining areas, though residents can also choose to have their meals in their own room if they prefer. There is a greenhouse at the home and residents are able to enjoy gardening if they wish.
Additional services available to residents include a hairdresser who visits weekly, and newspaper and magazine deliveries, which are arranged through a local newsagent. These are charged on a weekly basis as used. There is also a shop trolley service for items such as greeting cards, toiletries and confectionery.
Activities at Crossways are organised by the activity co-ordinator with the involvement of the care teams, residents and their families. These are designed to match residents’ interests and include a range of pursuits, such as quizzes, bowls, outings and celebrations for special days (such as St George’s day, Chinese New Year and St Patrick’s Day). There is also a computer for residents’ use.
Crossways operates marvellous mealtime’s initiative, with employees striving to make mealtimes a relaxed and enjoyable part of the day. The menu is varied over five weeks and seasonal menus are offered. Residents are involved in setting the menus and can make special requests for meals.
All religious denominations are recognised and religious groups and church representatives pay regular visits. Church of England and Roman Catholic services are held within the home.
Crossways is situated in Lostock Gralam village, a mile away from Northwich. It is close to a number of local parks, Jodrell Bank, the Cuckoo Factory and an ice cream farm
