What’s been going on at Freeland House?

We’ve had the pat dog in house, the birds of prey & clients have been decorating the home ready for Halloween.

  • Freeland School came and sang for us & talked to our residents to produce a “life history”
  • We celebrated the Queens 90 birthday & National Care Home Open day.

David Cameron opens Tea Room at local Nursing Home Friday 8 April 2016

  • David Cameron, Prime Minister and MP for Witney, visited Freeland House Nursing Home to open the new Lavender Tea Room which was completed earlier this month.
  • The Tea Room offers clients, families and the local community a chance to relax in tranquil surroundings whilst indulging in homemade cakes and treats. Frances Payne, the Home Manager said “We were all delighted to welcome David Cameron to Freeland House and officially open the Lavender Tea Rooms, which can be enjoyed by clients, families and the local community alike”
  • Mr Cameron, who was visiting the home in his role as the local MP, and was presented with a collage hand made by the clients, said “It was a pleasure to visit Freeland House.  The staff and residents made me feel most welcome and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing first-hand the special activities and high quality care, which all contribute to the big smiles on everyone’s faces.”
  • The Lavender Tea Room is open Monday to Sunday 10am to 4pm, and is open to all.

  • We will be hosting 6 themed events throughout the year. You are all welcome to come along. The first will be a Hawaiian day on Saturday April 16 from 3-6pm. There will be a steel band, rum, coconuts & tropical fruit.

  • We hope you all enjoyed our annual Christmas Party.
  • We would like to thank PP’s daughter Miranda for her help with the Tombola stall, and all the fantastic donations we received.
  • The Tombola stall raised £95 towards craft equipment for the residents. It was a fantastic evening – thank you!

  • Freeland House Christmas party will be taking place on Saturday 19 December from 6-8pm, with Val & Rob. Come along and celebrate.

  • Children in need. The home will be celebrating children in need on Friday 13 November and staff will be in fancy dress. If you would like to participate in any way please see Carol.

Clients have enjoyed a shopping experience with Gemini fashion. They have enjoyed performances form Wendy on the keyboard, and Rob. Clients have been busy making and painting decorations ready for Halloween.

Macmillan Coffee morning We raised £51.24 for Macmillan following our coffee morning. Thank you!

  • Gemini Clothes Sale Fri 9 October Gemini will be in selling reasonably priced clothing from 11am.
  • Jumble Sale Saturday 24 Oct 10-2pm There will also be a Tombola stall and a Cake stall. We would be grateful for any donations. All welcome!
  • Wed 21 October at 11am – Rob & Val are singing for us
  • Friday 30 October at 11am – sing along with Mike

Please note due to the delay in the building works the new date for the champagne reception will be Saturday 26 September. The time will remain the same 3-5pm.

  • Macmillan Coffee morning

We will be hosting a Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 25 September from 10am. All welcome!


Resident celebrated her 100th birthday with a family party in house and a birthday card from the queen. Congratulations!


What’s been going on at Freeland House?

Our clients have enjoyed seeing the Zoo Lab, activities in the gazebo, trying different tastes with the chocolate fountain and concert at Wood Green School.

What’s been going on at Freeland House?  

Clients have been enjoying the beautiful weather in the garden and gazebo (with refreshing ice lollies too!) We have had entertainment from Wendy on the keyboard, and everyone has loved watching the chicks hatching.


What’s been going on at Freeland House?  

Art, games, keep fit, entertainment and Maureen went to explore the kitchen and basement area, as she mentioned at our residents meeting that she would like to do this.
