Each household caters for 10-12 residents. The Laurels is situated within a mile of Winsford town centre and is well served by local amenities.

There are 40 single bedrooms, including three with en-suite facilities. All rooms have television points. There are a number of attractive lounge areas throughout the home. One lounge is fitted with a hearing loop, a discreet device to improve sound reception and aid those with hearing difficulties. There is a spacious dining area, or residents can choose to have their meal served in their own room if they prefer. There are also a number of kitchenettes around the home, which residents can use to prepare their own snacks or light meals if they wish. Residents at The Laurels also have use of extensive garden areas, all of which are easily accessed by wheelchair. These include a small summer house, a greenhouse and vegetable patch.

Additional services available to residents include a hairdresser who visits on a weekly basis, and newspaper and magazine deliveries which are arranged through a local newsagent. These services are charged on a weekly basis as used. There is also a shop trolley service for items such as greetings cards, toiletries, drinks and confectionery.

Activities at The Laurels are varied and regular, and enable residents to take advantage of facilities within the home, as well as involving the local community. Regular in house activities include arts and crafts, dominoes and cards, bingo, sing-a-longs, manicures, quizzes, a monthly social evening, a monthly bring and buy sale and regular visits from the local library. Residents are also able to enjoy gardening and use of the dedicated computer for residents. The Laurels also encourages animals into the home and is part of the Pets as Therapy scheme, enjoying regular visits from dog, Molly.

The Laurels operates Marvellous Mealtimes and aims to make meals as pleasant and positive an occasion as possible. There is a varied and wholesome menu, and all special dietary requirements and preferences are catered for.
